Twenty First Century Spy Cam Phenomenon

They could be everywhere and we wouldn't even know it. In fact they are very few places where they're not these days. What am I talking about? Why, the spy cam of course! Long gone are the days when we relied on grainy video or the clicking of a camera to observe people, places and happenings. Although there are both good and bad sides to the modern spy cam, Many believe they are an infringement on personal privacy?

The Spy Cam - A Good or Bad thing?

Pinhole spy cameras are becoming all the rage of late and are defined as state of the art security cameras of the twenty first century.

The pin hole spy cam is so small that it can be hidden inside a picture frame, a cuddly toy, a house lamp, or anything else you can think of to conceal the photographic parasite. The scary thing about the modern spy cams is that they can be small enough to be virtually undetectable to the human eye. If you're a cheating partner or an idle member of the workforce, then beware, as big brother could just be watching over you.

On a lighter note, in the right hands, this technology is invaluable. For example, there are several modern cameras which are used to full effect by police and private detectives, and they provide valuable information and evidence against criminals or wrongdoers. It's the increasing availability of the spy cam that freaks most folks out. Even it you have nothing to hide, the thought of some pervert spying on you whilst taking a shower or worse, can be quite alarming.

To put the spy cam into some kind of perspective here, just think that there are some models that are so minute they can be hidden inside a pen. Now I don't say this so that you start to become paranoid, it’s just that we live in an age of advancing technology and along with that comes the consumer obsession for miniaturization. Most folks are not the victim of spy cam intrusion, but if you are a criminal or someone of an unfaithful nature, then you'd better watch out, because many video vigilantes are taking the law into their own hands with this latest surveillance technology.

spy camThe thing I don't like about the modern spy cameras is the thought that some geek is secretly employed by my company to sit in some remote office to monitor everyone's moves, and whereabouts at any given time. It's a fact that spy cams are installed in many business organizations to monitor employees and most of us don't even know it.

If you feel you are being asked to knuckle down and show a bit more commitment and enthusiasm in you work, then there's a possibility the geek in the office has pointed out to management that you've been taking too many trips to the lavatory, have been chatting too much with colleagues, or just caught on camera for sitting around when you should have been working.

If your boss suddenly supplies everyone with a company pen and insists you use only the firms writing equipment, don't go thinking you've all been given spy pen cameras to work with, as such a move is most unlikely. However, if you find that there seems to be a bit of tightening up in the workplace, then there's a good chance the company you work for has joined millions of others and is now monitoring the staff with the use of the twenty first century spy cam.
